Over on my old WordPress blog I used to have a regular section where I shared with my readers lovely things I’d discovered. Things I’d actually tried out myself and wanted to shout about or things or places I’d found that I knew if I loved, my readers would love too. And so I shared.
So I’m going to try out Found, Loved, Shared with you lovely lot.
Here we go …
First up and this has been a long time coming. It’s really overdue me sharing this.
I want to share with you … my favourite collagen.
Now, before we go any further and you skim over, we all know that the internet is awash with collagen this, collagen that. It’s the one thing I get contacted about the most from brands wanting me to try out and review. Mostly, I refuse because I don’t think this particular collagen can be beaten.
I have a very good reason for sticking my neck out here and telling you this.
I’ll break the story down.
[sample/affiliate} think it was probably towards the end of 2023 when I was sent some PR samples to try of Kollo Health’s Premium Marine Collagen. At the time I was suffering with arthritis in my right knee caused by an old injury. About 12 months earlier I’d had surgery but the pain, although not as bad as pre-surgery was always niggling at me and getting me down. Discovering that swigging one of those sachets on the daily could reduce joint pain had me all in. I’m terrible btw at administering anything but the pain had me motivated.
Anyway, about 2 weeks in my knee pain had improved. I didn’t even put it down to the collagen swigging at the time. I mean come on, not that quick, right? I used up the samples and that was it. I was contacted again in late Spring did I want to try some more. I thought, you know what I will because I remembered that I kind of thought I wonder if it was that that had helped my knee pain.
The pain was back btw at this point.
So this was me carrying out a ‘Sharon’ experiment.
This time I received some of their ‘new at the time’ Meno Support Collagen as well as more of the original. I think this was the reason the very nice people at Kollo had got in touch with me again.
Lo and bloody behold approximately 2 weeks in on the red original Kollo my knee pain vanished again!! I couldn’t believe it!
A product that actually worked!!
I mean I know my experiment wasn’t particularly scientific but there were no other changes in my life other than me chugging this every day.
I actually looked forward to it as well. It tastes good and is easy.
It does what it said on the tin so to speak.
I couldn’t get enough of it after that.
Oh, and I can’t begin to tell you how lush the Meno Support one tastes. So juicy and fresh. Nothing like other fishy supplements which usually give me wind and horrible after taste 🌬️
So I know I’ve taken a long time to tell you this but I do think it was a share worth sharing. I feel wonderful when I’m using.
I’ve even got Mr B on it for his aches and pains and he is really hard to win over on anything. He gives it the nod, too.
My knee is overall so much better so I’m not using it as much as I should. That’s more down to my ADHD and me forgetting to order. I have to be in agony with something to motivate myself but Mr B usually gives me the nudge when he’s run out.
I’ve also been on a health drive since February this year and have lost over 2.5 stone so that was always gonna help , wasn’t it? I’m generally almost pain free knee wise!!
There are so many other benefits, too .. skin, hair, energy and not forgetting the 5 trillion Menopause symptoms.
And Kollo have tons of ongoing offers on their website to help you afford to try it out. I don’t think you’d look back tbh.
I don’t recommend anything lightly.
The people behind the Kollo brand are just lovely, too.

This is another brand that I love for so many reasons.
Bree, the founder has a great story to tell. She grew up in Sydney so knows a thing or two about repelling bugs. I do mean the insect kind, btw!
As she explains on her website, “she became increasingly frustrated by the outdated insect repellents she encountered; sticky sprays, chemical smells, plastic-heavy packaging.”
She’s really working hard to make a difference in the world of traditional, chemical ridden insect repellant.
I’ve got to admit I used it wrong to begin with as well. I couldn’t figure out how a roll on could work. How much skin could a roll on cover?
And then the penny dropped and this is where it gets clever.
You don’t have to roll it on everywhere.
I began just dabbing on my pulse points and dotting here and there on my legs.
And it worked.
I’d been plagued with mozzies feasting on me on the last 4 holidays I’d been on. Scabby, mozzie bitten legs are not a good look, are they?
It also acts as itch relief but I never itched .. not one bit. Those peskies couldn’t even get a bite off of me … woo hoo!!
I came home from Majorca bite free.
I know it’s not strictly a scientific experiment. It’s another ‘Sharon’ one. But firmly in my travel arsenal now and will be coming away with me in October to try again.
It smells good, too.Summer in a bottle.
